HARDY COUNTY'S PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

MARCH 28 AT 2PM & 4PM
McCoy’s Grand Theatre & Museum will host the world premiere of the new documentary film BETWEEN THE STRINGS, capturing the spirit and sound of the 2025 West Virginia Branch Mountain Bluegrass Festival.
The film will premiere on Saturday, March 28, at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM at McCoy’s Grand, located at 121 North Main Street in Moorefield. Admission is free and open to the public. Doors will open 45 minutes prior to each screening. No tickets are required; seating is first come, first served.
“I wanted to capture on film the excitement of the festival,” said filmmaker Billy Keplinger. “This film takes audiences behind the scenes — from backstage to jam sessions — and highlights the musicians and the community who experience four unforgettable days of music. I think audiences will love seeing and hearing these special artists in such an authentic way.”
“We’re honored to host BETWEEN THE STRINGS and share this special film with our community,” said John Brennskag, President of McCoy’s Grand. “It not only celebrates bluegrass music, but it builds anticipation for the upcoming 2026 festival this summer.”

StreamLine Music, from Hampshire County, West Virginia, delivers a unique acoustic music performance that includes influences from Old-Time, Bluegrass, Country and Folk. The band consists of Alana Hartman (flute), Christi Hicks (mandolin, bazouki), Steve Ritz (guitar and clawhammer banjo) and Frank Nanna (guitar, autoharp, dobro), with all members contributing vocals. Audiences enjoy their vocal harmonies, "twin" flute and mandolin instrumentals, and covers of artists such as Bob Dylan, Nanci Griffith, Sarah Jarosz, Tom Petty and John Anderson. The band also performs original songs, written from their own life experiences growing up in Appalachia. The group started as friends who pick on their porch or along the riverbank, but they now enjoy playing in front of audiences at various venues in the area. They have performed at the South Branch Bluegrass Festival, WV's Branch Mountain Bluegrass Festival, WV Peach Festival, Burlington Apple Butter Festival and The Riverhouse. The group cannot be confined to a genre, but with a little bit of comedy and a lot of heart the band delivers a performance where their love of music comes through.
CAROLINE AUVILLE from Caroline and the Evergreens perfroms a solo set to open the concert with Jashua Parsons on guitar. See a new version of Caroline Unplugged in this special concert.

When McCoy’s Grand Theatre matriarch Eunice Dasher McCoy passed away, she left a powerful legacy behind. In her will, she ensured that McCoy’s Grand would be preserved—not torn down, not radically altered—so future generations could experience the theatre much as audiences did in its golden age. Built in 1927, McCoy’s Grand has seen careful updates over the years, yet it remains remarkably true to its original character. Walking through the building today feels like stepping back in time, where the spirit of classic cinema, live music, and community theatre still lingers in every corner.
The McCoy-McMechen Theater & Museum brings this history to life. Inside, visitors will discover film archives, original architectural plans, vintage movie posters, historic photographs, production memorabilia, old tickets, performance schedules, and original signage—each piece telling part of the story of this beloved landmark and the generations it has served. A favorite destination during Hardy County’s Heritage Weekend each September, the museum welcomes visitors year-round who are curious about local history, classic movie houses, and the enduring role of the arts in small-town America. The Board of Directors of McCoy’s Grand remains deeply committed to honoring Eunice McCoy’s vision—preserving the museum’s heritage while keeping the theatre vibrant and active with performances, concerts, and community events.
We invite you to stop by, explore the exhibits, and experience the living history of one of Hardy County’s true cultural treasures: the McCoy-McMechen Theater & Museum.

We're hard at work on making a new space for audiences to enjoy in 2026. The new COURTYARD PLAZA AND GARDENS are underway to premiere in Spring of 2026.
